Recap: Midsouth Ponds Retreat

Published on December 27, 2025

Mid-South Pond Retreat

In November, pond professionals from across the country gathered just outside of Memphis, Tennessee, for the 2025 Midsouth Ponds Retreat—an immersive, business-focused event designed to strengthen leadership, sharpen strategy, and foster meaningful industry connections.

HARDSCAPE NORTH AMERICA

The retreat welcomed 72 attendees representing 15 states, with participants traveling from California to South Carolina, Maine to Texas, underscoring the national reach and growing momentum of the pond and water feature industry. More than a meeting, the retreat served as a collaborative space for contractors, business owners, and industry professionals to step away from day-to-day operations and focus on long-term growth.

The success of the Midsouth Ponds Retreat was made possible through the generous support of industry partners committed to education and professional development. Sponsors included: EasyPro, Link Master, Aquascape, Apex Distribution, Anjon Manufacturing, Pond Guard Liner Manufacturing and Bubba Hogan Coaching.

Their continued investment in the industry helped create an environment focused on learning, connection, and actionable outcomes.

Coaching, Strategy, and Perspective

A core component of the retreat was its high-impact coaching sessions, led by respected industry voices and business strategists including Bob Turner, Summit Coaching and the Rozenberg Group, Steve Rozenberg, and Bubba Hogan of Bubba Hogan Coaching.

These sessions focused on leadership development, business clarity, and navigating the evolving challenges facing contractors today.

The retreat also featured guest speakers Jacob Salem, owner of EZ Metrics Marketing, and Tim Cutroni of New England Aquatic Landscaping. Their presentations delivered practical insight into marketing performance, operational growth, and adapting to market shifts—providing attendees with tools they can implement immediately.

Beyond the classroom, the retreat emphasized connection. Attendees enjoyed chef-inspired meals that rivaled Food Network fare, creating a relaxed, communal atmosphere where conversations flowed naturally. Shared meals became opportunities to exchange ideas, stories, and hard-earned lessons from the field.

Building Relationships That Last

Networking proved to be one of the most valuable elements of the retreat. Contractors and business owners connected with peers who understand the unique challenges of the pond industry, forming relationships that extend far beyond the event itself. These conversations laid the groundwork for future collaboration, mentorship, and mutual support.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As the retreat concluded, every participant left with a written action plan focused on addressing challenges and seizing opportunities in 2026. Armed with clarity, accountability, and renewed motivation, attendees returned home prepared to elevate their businesses and lead with intention.

The Midsouth Pond Retreat was more than a successful event—it was a reminder of the power of community, shared knowledge, and purposeful leadership. The impact of this gathering will be seen not only in individual businesses, but across the industry as a whole.
