The Fifth annual Water Artisans of the Year Awards

artisans of the year logoPOND Trade magazine has announced that it is now accepting entries for the 2020 Water Artisans of the Year contest, a staple of the pond and water garden industry in its fifth year. The independent contest was created in 2016 to pay homage to each year’s most stellar water-feature construction projects (and their runners-up) in five distinct categories.

The Water Artisans of the Year contest is intended to level the playing field for the industry’s aquatic artists. Projects are judged on merit alone by a blind, independent panel with no knowledge of product and company brand names.

“I can’t believe we’re already in our fifth year,” said Lora Lee Gelles, publisher of POND Trade magazine. “I can’t wait to see what this year’s applicants have in store for us!”

To be considered eligible, the project must have been completed between Nov. 1, 2019 and Nov 1, 2020. Winners will be featured in the March/April 2021 issue of POND Trade magazine.

For 2020, POND Trade will accept entries in the following categories: Best Pondless, Most Naturalistic, Best Water Feature Under $15,000, Ponds by Night, and Fountains & Formal Features.

Water Artisans of the Year Contest
Does one of your creations “shine” brightest at night? The new Ponds by Night category puts the spotlight on all the nocturnal notables. Also new this year, the Fountains & Formal Features category will be open to all fountains, basalts and manufactured spillways.

The POND Trade Editorial Board assembles a diverse panel of third-party experts who evaluate and rank all entries. Magazine staff with knowledge of the applicants’ identities do not take part in the judging process. This year’s judging panel will be announced in the next few weeks.

For the entry form and official rules, visit the 2020 awards form page here  (https://www.pondtrademag.com/2020-water-artisans-of-the-year) and provide up to four photographs, a short biography and a brief description of your project. A $25 donation to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital is required with each submission. Contractors may submit an unlimited number of projects, but only one category submission per project, please. To be considered eligible, the project must have been completed between Nov. 1, 2019 and Nov 1, 2020. Winners will be featured in the March/April 2021 issue of POND Trade magazine.

Have you ever submitted an application to the Water Artisans of the Year contest? We are always looking to showcase new talent from all over the world. Do you think you have what it takes? Don’t delay — the submission deadline is Nov. 30, 2020!
