Weee-oh! Another year has come and gone. Hopefully you’ve had a great year and many
fantastic completed projects. As with anything you do, there’s always room to better yourself. Heck, that’s why POND Trade has so many readers! Our January / February 2025 issue offers a lot you can learn from.

We welcome back Dave Duensing — a Big Kahuna in our industry — to write about the art of cutting rocks. Dave dispels the myth about the limitations of cut rocks and showcases some jaw-dropping examples of how this art form can be applied to many different building styles. Speaking of building, I think you will enjoy two of this issue’s pond construction articles.
Jeff Knox shares how to master the bare-liner pond floor finish. “Koi Boy” Kole Loveday, a first-time writer with us, covers PolyPond a more cost-effective construction method that uses plastic.
We’re also giving a little love to the goldfish this issue with Rick Gann’s Language of Koi installment, which reveals how to monetize koi-goldfish cohabitation. Finally, Laura Reale provides some marketing advice to help grow your business.
