I Bid You Adieu

Yes, it’s true. This will be my last issue as the publisher and owner of POND Trade magazine. It has been my pleasure meeting and working with so many of you over the past 12 years. Whether we met or chatted at a conference or trade show, collaborated on an article, or I picked your brain about a topic, thank you for your role in this journey.
I’d also like to give a shout out to all my loyal advertisers that have supported me over the years. This magazine would not be at all possible without you. Thank you!
I’m making way for Lauren Nolan, who will be taking over as publisher/owner as of March 6. My retirement will be officially announced at the Water Garden Expo in Shawnee, Oklahoma. I am very satisfied with the transition, and I’m extremely confident that Lauren will do a great job. Lauren is excited to take the reins, and I’m excited to see what she has in store for us going forward!
I have the pleasure of presenting awards to the newest Water Artisans of the Year at the Water Garden Expo. This was the ninth year of the contest, and we had a bumper crop of amazing talent whose projects should provide some inspiration as you start gearing up for the spring building season.
This issue is awash with content you won’t want to overlook. For example, did you know how dangerous feeding ducks near a pond can be? Carolyn Weise tells us how to avoid the perils of an overcrowded pond. Finally, in an issue full of winners, check out the best new bloomers at the latest IWGS New Waterlily Competition.
Again, thanks for making the last 12 years some of the best of my working career. See you by the pond!
Happy PONDering!
