Flower Power
Oooh la, la. We have not just one but TWO articles about plants in the July /August 2024 issue.
If you know me personally, you know that I’m really into flower gardening. I have a huge garden that I love to tend to. Back when I was initially looking into acquiring POND Trade magazine, the blind listing was for a “garden-related magazine.” That certainly grabbed my interest! I moved forward and took a closer look at the magazine, when I found out that it was, in fact, focused on WATER gardening. At that point, it didn’t take long to get me hooked. I had a pond in my yard within the next year!
This should explain why I’m excited that this issue features two visually stunning, information-packed articles that highlight plants in and around the pond. Tom Dieck takes a wider look at plants for inside and outside the water garden throughout the year, while Rebecca Willoughby focuses on the late-summer and early-fall treasures to plant in and around the pond. There are just so many options out there! Branch out and try something new. You won’t be disappointed.
As always, though, it’s not all about the plants. We are pleased to have Ed Beaulieu from Aquascape back with us to talk about building with stone at all levels of expertise to achieve the artistic effects you’re looking for. In the Language of Koi department, Brian Fitzsimmons recounts the journey of ‘Jennifer Aniston,” the stunning Grand Champion winner at this year’s inaugural All-American Koi Show. I was fortunate to be on hand at the show in Las Vegas, and I’ve got my own roundup with all the winners ready for your viewing pleasure. If you missed this year’s show, make plans to join me there next year!
Happy PONDering!
