Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Barbi Holdeman migrated to Phoenix in 1977 in an old station wagon with her mother, grandmother, six cats and two gerbils. She attended Central High School, obtaining her GED so that she could strike out on her own at the ripe old age of 16. She's a bit on the independent and rebellious side. Barbi has completed the Maricopa County Master Gardener training courses and has an Associate's Degree in Ornamental Horticulture & Landscape Design, a Paralegal Certificate and an Associate Degree in Fashion Design and Apparel Construction. She also speaks fluent sarcasm. As co-owner and administrator of The Pond Gnome, Barbi concentrates her energies on promotion, administration and comic relief.
