Contractor’s Corner | Stella Puts Her Paw in the Winner Circle

stella pond contractor's cornerOnward and upward, 2018 is here and we’re looking forward to a great year of business and new relationships. However, we have one last look at 2017 via the winner of Pondliner’s Quarterly contest for the best Contractor’s Corner article. The 4th winner — one winner each quarter — for 2017 is Ben Timmermans’ “ Contractor’s Corner – Whose Pond Is This?” and the escapades of Stell, the real boss.

Dog owners know the love for their animal and this installation saw this in spades. From the winning article, below:

Out from nowhere came a black Lab at Mach 2. My stomach fell to my feet. Stella wasn’t their child — she was their dog! I stood there for what felt like an eternity trying to think back to the consultation. I remembered distinctly the client saying, “It has to be stable for our Stella.” I had made the safe assumption that Stella was a child. I have been on hundreds of consultations over the past 20 years, but this was a first. Here I had totally designed this plunge-style pond for a couple and their child!

Other features of the installation include: a natural, plunge-style swimming hole with a small waterfall and stream. The pond eventually grew to 12 foot by 16 foot with a depth of 4 feet. We incorporated a small, 13-foot meandering stream and waterfall, which returned to the system under a large evergreen.

Congrats to Ben Timmermans, Liquid Landscapes’ team as they’ll receive $250 in Pondliner products!
