What a great message to hear from our Contractor’s Corner Quarterly winner as everyone embarks on a new pond and water garden season:

While for some this is a norm of life, waterscape artisans have chosen a profession they love, for few things compare to the building a waterscape experience.

April’s Contractor’s Corner, sponsored by Pondliner, reveals the huge undertaking by John and his team at Waterscape Creations as they uncovered major foundational issues with old, unattended pond. The owner wanted a new design, but the hard part was solving the numerous water issues with the old design and tested the pond install team perservance and dedication. See litany of water issues below from the article:

  • As we started draining the pond, below the surface there was a complete mess of muck, limbs, a filled tinhorn and other debris. It was the worst pond gone wrong caused by poor design, bad craftsmanship and a lack of care.
  • Approximately 100 yards of muck, debris, river rock, decomposed boulders, five inefficient filter falls, five warped skimmers and the liner were hauled away.
  • After removing the liner, we discovered erosion issues and an underground spring (contributing 1 foot of water per day).
