POND Trade magazine’s 2016 Water Artisans of the Year contest made a big splash earlier this year when the winners of the inaugural competition were announced at February’s Water Garden Expo in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
In keeping with the new tradition, and with the 2017 pond season in full swing, POND Trade has announced the launch of its second annual contest to honor this season’s best waterscape projects.
“We were thrilled that last year’s contest was such a big hit,” said Lora Lee Gelles, publisher of POND Trade. “We are proud to serve as a level playing field for the entire spectrum of talented contractors in this growing and vibrant industry.”
Like last year, the independent contest is intended to honor specific water feature construction projects completed by professional contractors in five distinct categories. This year’s categories are best waterfall, best water feature under $15,000, most artistic, best pondless and best large-scale project. Eligible projects must be completed between Jan. 1 and Oct. 31, 2017. Projects completed in 2016 are not eligible for this year’s contest, and multiple entries for the same project in different categories are not permitted.
POND Trade has assembled a new panel of judges representing numerous specialties within the pond and water feature construction industry to review this year’s submissions. Like last year, the judges will have no knowledge of the names of specific contractors or products during the review process.
More details on the contest, including how to enter, will be released in the upcoming weeks. So, start compiling the photos and specifications on all your recently completed, ongoing and upcoming projects.
Winners will be featured in the March/April 2018 issue of POND Trade.
