Elm Grove, WI – In a continued effort to educate industry professionals about rainwater harvesting, Reinders, Inc. proudly announces a Rainwater Harvesting Event to take place at Boerner Botanical Gardens August 12th – 21st in Milwaukee, WI. The hands-on training seminar to install a 25,000 gallon rainwater harvesting system for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) is open to professionals interested in learning more about stormwater solutions and rainwater harvesting applications.

“Capturing rainwater to help irrigate the gardens and eliminating stormwater runoff at the same time is a win-win situation,” said Joel Reinders, Product Manager for Reinders, Inc. “We are happy to be a part of this event and hope other environmentally conscious organizations consider similar projects.”
Reinders partnered with Aquascape, Inc. to create a design to find alternative methods for water management issues, water conservation and reuse, as well as habitat construction. The project was submitted to MMSD and received one of eight 2009 Best Management Practice Awards.

Each day, the construction seminar will begin with a project overview of that day’s activities. This format allows attendees the choice of attending the entire event or select days depending upon individual needs. The first day of the event will be dedicated to a complete project overview and initial construction.

Sustainable landscape projects included in Reinders’ Rainwater Harvesting Event include installation of Aquascape’s RainXchange™ System, wetland filtration, Unilock’s Permeable Paver System, rain gardens, and waterfall and stream construction. Homeowners will be invited to attend the final day in order to see how they can incorporate green initiatives into their own backyards.
