Landscape Ontario Horticultural Trades Association is set to change perceptions of the horticultural /landscape industry on January 10-12, 2017 with a revitalized version of Congress. The 44th edition of the show will draw all horticulture / landscape professions together in a 3-in-1 show including Garden Expo, Fencecraft and Congress. The perennial favorite trade show and conference offers:
- 600 multinational exhibitors
- 12,000 professionals from all sectors
- 49 acclaimed speakers
- 62 hours of professional development
- 7 social events including 2 exciting parties
“To achieve modern gardens, landscapes, nightscapes, outdoor living space or to source the latest trends in hobby gardening, our members and visitors need to have a one-stop buying venue.” comments Heather MacRae, Director of Events and Trade Shows. “Congress’ popularity with our contractors makes us proud. Welcoming back retail suppliers and independent garden center owners, our partners from Garden Expo, will lend added excitement to the show after a 16-year hiatus.” All professions, from garden center owners to landscape and fence contractors, can see the suppliers, hear from industry experts, network and socialize in a world-class trade show that offers a conduit for professional and business development, personal growth, relationship building, networking and enriched learning. We are better together.
The perception of the industry is set to change. Education and on-the-job-training has created a new generation of landscape professionals. The consensus from a recent Landscape Ontario volunteer’s meeting was that industry members are “professionals who want to work together with others to create a better world, run better businesses and participate in building better communities.” The professions work as a team and collaborate to beautify environments for customers — homes, commercial properties, public parks and outdoor spaces. The profession uses Congress to find the products, services and related professionals to make their companies more efficient and effective.
