IPPCA Announces New Vice President

Published on January 10, 2011

The IPPCA is pleased to announce the appointment of Dave Ouwinga, owner of Easy Pro Pond Products, based in Grant, Michigan as the newest Vice President of the 7 year old International Professional Pond Companies Association (IPPCA), the Pond and Waterscape Industry’s Trade association. This move is a further reinforcement of the Association’s recent name modification that removed the name “Contractors” from its name, replacing it with “Companies” to more fully reflect the all-inclusive nature of the Pond and Waterscape Industry’s Trade Association.

Dave and Easy Pro Pond Products have supported the Association since its formation in early 2004. The acceptance of the position being vacated by three term Vice President Darren Lucas of Natures Touch Ponds, located in Paramus, New Jersey , is a great fit for the Association and its Executive Committee. Ouwinga stated today, “The Association is evolving and growing in a positive direction. I’m pleased with the opportunity to be more active in the Association as well as the Pond Industry, supporting the industry’s vibrant growth and contributing prosperity to the association and to its members companies” he concluded.

Ouwinga has spent over 35 years in the fisheries and pond industry, and while his wife and 3 children keep him busy during weekends and evenings, he continues to work hard on the company. He founded Easy Pro Pond Products in 2000 as a diversification and growth move to enhance his parents’ company, Stoney Creek Equipment. The growth of Easy Pro Pond Products has been close to meteoric in the following decade. Easy Pro Pond Products has been constantly expanding its facilities and client base on an International level to a point where it now has multiple facilities and locations in central Michigan and has quickly outgrown its parent.

Lucas is stepping down as Vice President “to let,” in his own words; “some new blood move the association on to the next level”. Darren was one of the first officers of the association and has contributed greatly to the stability and steady growth of the association over the years. Darren will be retaining his Board of Advisors status and will continue to support the association and its mission in the future.
