##Info-tanza Gets Going

The international Professional Pond Contractors Association kicked off its 2009 Event today in Atlanta, Georgia. Bill Johnson from Firestone keynoted day one of this four day event, hands on training on how to install and seam EPDM liner. The morning session featured the Firestone Liner Installation Certification session, then after lunch we went outside for a hands on lab. While this may seem old hat to some, what was surprising to many was the details. If you have every seamed a liner, you have probably done it wrong at least once. Or you may have heard how you just can’t seam EPDM. John emphasized that much of what pond installers struggle with in their day to day installs, has already been figured out and resolved by the development in other industries, such as roofing. Handy items are available for dealing with getting a pipe safely through a liner, such as Form Flash Tape, which unlike Cover Strip, stretches and then holds that shape as it cure, to make a permanent sea. We just need to take advantage of the struggles they went through to control water, and adapt those tool to our needs. Look for more on the tips and trick presented in upcoming issue of POND Trade Magazine.
