Frog Log Saves Critters

Published on May 31, 2012

Swimming Pool and Pond owners have often experienced the heartbreak of removing small lifeless creatures (Frogs, Turtles, Chipmunks, Lizards, Birds, etc.) from their pool, pond or skimmer basket. Frog Log, a relatively new device invented by Wildlife Biologist Rich Mason and exclusively distributed to Lawn and Garden and Wild Bird specialty stores by Gold Crest Distributing solves the problem.

According to Mason, “In 2004 good friends who had recently built an in ground pool called me to say with dismay that ‘one’ evening they found an astonishing fifty-three Frogs and Toads in their pool. I felt strongly that something had to be done to save the tens of thousands of Toads, Frogs, and other animals that were dying in swimming pools each year.” Mason continues, “The Frog Log is simply a floating device that quickly and easily attaches to the side of the pool and gives critters an escape ramp.”

In announcing his company’s exclusive distribution arrangement with Frog Log, Gold Crest Distributing President Mel Toellner remarks, “Like most of our best new products, the Frog Log was recommended to us by one of our customers Michael Moore of the Wild Bird Center in Severna Park, MD.” Toellner continues, “We love Frog Log because it helps our retailers solve a real problem for pool owners while fulfilling our mission of helping families enjoy nature in their own backyard. We’re also excited about Frog Log as it is bringing lots of new middle to upper income pool owners into our retailer’s stores!”
