You may think it’s far away, but it’s not too early to make plans to be part of the annual migration of aquatic plant geeks to the 2015 IWGS Symposium being held in Lawrence, KS, from Aug. 13 to 15.
The symposium offers attendees the chance to reconnect with friends, gain industry knowledge, learn from experts and, of course, view beautiful waterlilies and water gardens.
Organizers suggest arriving on Wednesday, August 12, and Kansas City International Airport (MCI) would be your destination airport. IWGS vans will provide transportation, for those requesting them, on an hourly basis. Lawrence is just about an hour’s drive from the airport.
The host hotel is the Marriott SpringHill Suites, which is providing a group rate of $120/night including a hot breakfast. Book your group rate, by telling them you are with the International Waterlily & Watergarden Symposium. The hotel is adjacent to downtown Lawrence and participants will have easy access to many eateries, breweries, and unique shops in this university town.
With such close proximity to Kansas City, the event will also offer visits to several attractions in KC via shuttles (Hint: Great BBQ cuisine and jazz music on the menu!)
Water’s Edge will be hosting this event, with the help of community garden and water garden friends. There will be great sites to visit and essential seminars, too.
