Backyard Getaway created a pond-less water feature complete with a working fire hydrant for Honor Animal Rescue at their new dog ranch. Backyard Getaway raised funds in 2010 through their annual pond tour charity event. The funds were used to purchase equipment for the water feature & Dave Burns of Backyard Getaway donated his time to install the feature. The fountain sits in the center of the courtyard between the dog adoption cabins & features a real working fire hydrant painted with dog prints that appears to flow into the ground. The hydrant is connected to a re-circulating pump that is in a water retaining basin. The basin is buried in the ground covered with river rock & planted with aquatic & landscape plants that are safe for dogs. The fountain will make a fun spot for the dogs to splash around in during the hot summer months.
Honor Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Animal Rescue organization. Staffed 99% by caring volunteers, we provide rescued dogs and cats a safe NO-KILL sheltered environment while they wait to be adopted into their very own Forever Homes. Honor has two locations where rescued dogs & cats can be adopted, Nate’s Place at 8435 Cooper Creek Blvd. in the Cooper Creek Shopping Center and the soon to be open Dog Ranch on Lorraine Rd in Manatee county. www.honoranimalrescue.org
