The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP) has named Terry Brown to the new position of Director, Member Services and Operations. In that position, he will have wide-ranging responsibilities in support of membership and member services, education and certification, marketing, communications and sales initiatives, regional and chapter relations, and finance and administration. He assumes his new position part-time effective March 28, 2011, and full-time effective July 5, 2011.
Brown brings to APSP 17 years’ experience in the pool and hot tub industry with Buddy’s Pool Service in suburban Baltimore, a firm engaged in pool construction and servicing and pool and hot tub retail operations. For the past 10 years, he has served as vice president of finance and administration at Buddy’s, with principal responsibilities in all aspects of sales, service and retail operations, business development, vendor relations, marketing, finance and IT operations.
For many years, Brown has been a highly regarded volunteer within APSP, having served as President of the Chesapeake (MD) Chapter and member and officer of the APSP Board of Directors. In 2009-2010, Brown served as Chairman of the APSP Board of Directors. Most recently, he served as Chairman of the Board of Regents of APSP’s Career Institute. A new Chairman the Board of Regents will be elected shortly.

Brown holds a master’s degree in advanced information technology from Stevenson University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Towson University. He is an APSP Certified Building Professional (CBP).
