Delaware Valley “Aquascapers” Join the Fight Against Childhood Cancer By Hosting the Inaugural Alex’s Lemonade Pond Tour

Warrington, Pennsylvania (July, 2009) – A group of Aquascapers in the Delaware Valley region today announced that they are partnering with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) for Childhood Cancer to launch the inaugural Alex’s Lemonade Pond Tour. With its slogan “A Pond Tour for the Cure”, the Tour will be focused in Southern New Jersey as well as the Bucks and Montgomery suburbs of Philadelphia. The Pond Tour is slated for Saturday, August 1, 2009 (with a rain date of Sunday, August 2, 2009). Tour hours will run from 9AM – 4PM.

Each of the locations will host water features of various types and sizes intended to delight both the novice and the professional water garden enthusiasts alike. To participate in this family activity, tour packets may be purchased at a price of $15 per person (children 12 and under may enjoy the Tour FREE). Can’t make the Tour itself, and are interested in learning how you can become a “Pond Tour Sponsor”, you are invited to call Aqua Scapes of the Delaware Valley at 888-766-3746.

For additional information about the Pond Tour, visit www.AlexsLemonade.org and click on “Alex’s Lemonade Pond Tour” under “Events.” In addition, some of the hosts on the tour will host Alex’s lemonade Stands at their pond for patrons to enjoy a cold cup of lemonade for a worthy cause.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). At the age of 4, Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of volunteers across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $25 million towards fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 100 research projects nationally.

The participating companies below are proud to donate 100% of funds raised directly to ALSF in Alex’s memory. The Pond Tour will have a special meaning as August 1, 2009 represents the 5th Anniversary of Alex’s passing.

Participating companies include Aqua Scapes of the Delaware Valley (a division of Lentzcaping, Inc. in Warrington, PA), Aquatic Connections by George (Trevose, PA), Cedar Run Landscapes (North Wales, PA), James Ponds (Doylestown, PA), Laurel Oak Garden Center (Marlton/Medford, NJ) and Splash of Nature (Mt. Laurel, NJ).
