The IPPCA (International Professional Pond Companies Association) is entering into an agreement to hold its 7th annual INFO TANZA™ event in conjunction with the 2011 Irrigation Show. This year’s Irrigation Show will include its first ever pond and waterscape pavilion in the exhibit hall, as well as a full selection of INFO TANZA pond and waterscape educational seminars. This year’s Irrigation Show, hosted by the Irrigation Association (IA), will be held November 6-8th at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA.
The 3-day Irrigation Show is expected to draw over 6,000 attendees including over 3,000 buyers from North America and throughout the world. Utilizing over 200,000 square foot of space, this years show is expected to exceed the success of the 2010 event which highlighted 295 exhibitors and offered over 25 educational classes and industry certification exams.
The IPPCA has held its last six annual INFO TANZA™ events in Atlanta, GA and welcomes this opportunity to 1) work with the IA as well as 2) be more accessible to our west coast members. INFO TANZA serves as an annual meeting for its existing and prospective members as well as a learning opportunity with more than a dozen field and classroom seminars taught by some of the pond industry’s leading authorities.
IPPCA President John Olson was quoted as saying, “The IPPCA and the Irrigation Association have long held similar goals. Both nonprofit organizations are dedicated to the spirit of continued education for water industry related professionals, effective and meaningful certification programs, consumer education of best management water practices, and both are strong proponents toward the education of policy makers on the local, state and national levels.”
Olson went on to point out that “The IPPCA and the IA have a proven track record of working together successfully. An excellent example would be the IPPCA Legislative Action Team (LAT) in conjunction with the IA’s government affairs committee succeeded in getting an EPA reversal of position on the banning of ornamental water features in the Water Sense New Home Program. We expect this same level of success with our joining forces at the San Diego Irrigation Show this year,” Olson concluded.
