27th Annual Water Garden Tour July 11 – 12, 2020

Published on March 14, 2020

The Greater KC Water Garden Tour will take place on July 11th and 12th, 2020. The tour is a fundraiser hosted by the Water Garden Society to fund their educational & restorative outreach efforts. This 2-day tour has been the highlight of Kansas City summer events for 27 years. Plan to visit the metropolitan area to tour over 40 stunning water features. Many sites have never been on tour before and others offer sparkling new additions to delight old and young alike. Some water gardens feature working garden trains and fountains, sculpture gardens and fairy gardens.  Visitors can meet working plein-air artists and musicians at specific sites to further enhance their tour experience.  Many families make the annual Water Garden Society tour a must-see summer adventure.

“Reflections Upon A Water Garden” is the theme of our 27th annual Water Garden Tour. Experience the beauty in the sparkling ripples of the streams and nature’s music from the waterfalls as you stroll through the gardens. Mirrors and by association, reflective water have always been a gateway to the mystical and magical realms of the world. Listen to the fairies whisper their secrets and savor life in bloom.  Catch a glimpse of dragon flies and water nymphs as they dance among the lilies and lotus, a kaleidoscope of every color and shape. Pause to reflect on the crystal-clear water, the purest symbol of life. Like Monet, surrender to the timeless charms of the water garden.

Tickets for the 2-day tour will be available at most garden centers in the greater Kansas City area, Hen House Markets, and Westlake Hardware. Prices for the self-directed tour is $10 for both days. Children 13 and under are free with an adult. Be sure to enter your name to have a chance to receive many gift certificates from our wonderful sponsors. This one-of-a-kind tour serves a great civic purpose. Each year, the proceeds benefit construction and maintenance of educational and restorative water gardens and other educational programs in the Kansas City metropolitan area. To date, the KC Water Garden Society has built over 60 ponds for schools and other nonprofits.
