“Superiority in the disciplines of design is the basis of the Genesis 3 Design Schools,” said Brian Van Bower, President and Co-Founder of Genesis 3. “Upon completion of the courses, attendees will create successful, rewarding projects that include design perspective, architecture, ponds and water features, or fluid engineering.”

The Genesis 3 Design Schools include the following 20-hour courses:

Design Communication – Measured Perspective, develops competency with two-point perspective while focusing on scale, proportion, structured layouts, grid systems, tone, shadow and more. President of Drasin Design, Larry Drasin is also an instructor in the Environmental & Interior Design department at UCLA, where he recognized as Teacher of the Year. This class is level 300 [intermediate], and requires the prerequisite of the “Introduction to Perspective Drawing Workshop,” taught by David Tisherman, Co-Founder of Genesis 3, which will be offered in La Jolla, CA, on October 7, 2009.

The History of Water in Architecture, provides conversational and practical ability on water architecture and art, including ancient to modern architectural history, with a particular focus on water in built environments. This class is level 100 [beginner], and presented by Mark Holden, President of Holdenwater, and a faculty instructor at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, specializing in landscape architecture.

Designing and Creating Natural Looking Ponds and Water Features, teaches how to evaluate sites, maximize natural and planned elements and properly incorporate water features into a setting, in addition to providing an overview of mechanical, biological, bio-mechanical filtration, sterilization and circulation methods and equipment choices. Taught by David Duensing, President of David B. Duensing & Associates/Aquatic Construction Services, one of the most respected design and consulting firms in the worldwide water garden and water features, and Anthony Archer-Wills, Director of Anthony Archer-Wills and author of The Water Gardener and Designing Water Gardens. This class is level 200 [advanced beginner].

Advanced Fluid Engineering, provides an understanding of open channel flows, water-in-transit, weirs, runnels, lazy rivers, venting and more, in addition to how to properly size plumbing and equipment, calculate TDH, operating costs, size chemical systems and other items. Presented by David J. Peterson, P.E., SWD, Watershape Consulting, Inc., registered civil engineer in multiple states, and a member of the Society of Watershape Designers (SWD).
